Press Releases

5.1 Release

As DuVoice continues to develop the DV2000 software package, Release 5.1 represents a significant enhancement of this software. Key additions include:

Multiple Property Management System (PMS) support: Now a single DuVoice system can support multiple PMS. This means that DuVoice centralized voice mail can support hundreds of hotels, each with their own separate PMS interface. By centralizing voicemail among multiple sites, hotel operators can reduce software, hardware, support, and administration expense.
InnDesk Supports Multiple PMS: Now a single instance of InnDesk will support multiple properties. This allows hoteliers to take advantage of centralized human resources. Now a group of receptionists or front desk staff can support multiple properties either as a dedicated centralized resource, or to assist in ‘overflow’ situations with reduced personnel costs and increased service and efficiency the net result.
Support of Dialogic Digital Media Gateways (DMG): DuVoice uses the SIP standard to communicate with DMGs from Dialogic. These devices can be located remotely from the DuVoice server and integrate to the PBX through analog or digital interfaces. The DMGs enhance our ability to support legacy switches, especially in multiple PBX environments. With no internal voice boards, server requirements and expense are greatly reduced and the port for port cost of the DMGs is typically significantly less than that of internal voice boards.
VMware Support: One or more instances of DuVoice software can be run in VMware environments on Windows 7 32bit SP1, Windows 7 64bit SP1 , Windows Server 2008 32bit, Windows Server 2008 64bit, Windows XP 32bit SP3 only and Windows Server 2003 32bit only. It is no longer necessary to dedicate a server to the DuVoice application. This is especially convenient in SIP or SIP/DMI environments where Dialogic internal voice boards are not needed.
Single System Supports TDM and SIP: Depending on the configuration, this capability can be invaluable for hotel operators wanting to deploy a single voice mail system to support multiple PBXs requiring differing integration methods. Within a single installation different applications such as voice mail and IVR may call for different integration techniques as well.
New alarm and Alerting Functionality
System Alerts: DV2000 reports on system events affecting the DV2000/DV4 service as a whole: Startup, Shutdown, Restart and Warning. A Restart alert occurs when the system has shut down and restarted, usually because a critical service the system depends upon is not functioning properly and needs to be restarted. Warning alerts are sent when non-critical services have to be restarted. (A non-critical service is one that can be restarted by itself without requiring a full system restart.)
PMS Alerts: DV2000 reports on PMS events related to the hospitality server and its connection to the PMS. Startup and Shutdown alerts are sent when the hospitality service starts up and shuts down, respectively. Likewise, the Connected Alert is sent when the serial or TCP connection with the PMS has been established and a Disconnected Alert is sent if the connection is lost or has been disconnected during a shutdown.
Inventory Server Alerts: Inventory server events are generated by the Inventory Server Interface (ISI) IVR application. A Disconnected alert is sent if the server loses its connection to the remote server. A Warning alert is sent whenever a message packet fails due to maximum unsuccessful attempts to communicate the packet to the remote server.
Room status server Alerts: Room status server events are generated by the Room Status Interface( RSI) IVR application. A Disconnected alert is sent if the server loses its connection to the remote server. A Warning alert is sent whenever a message packet fails due to maximum unsuccessful attempts to communicate the packet to the remote server.
Hook State Monitor: For users of Avaya IP Office, DuVoice now monitors analog guest telephones and will use txt, email, and InnDesk notification to alert staff of long off hook status.
New Port Activity Monitor: The latest version of the Port Activity Monitor provides a central location for the control of the system and provides the current status of all the DuVoice channels and services in greater detail than before.
