I would like to say THANK YOU to both you and the entire DuVoice team for providing The Memphis Grizzlies House (MGH), a St. Jude patient housing facility, an excellent new Voicemail solution. The DuVoice system has been working well since Go-Live and it interfaces well with he MGH Property Management System (PMS). MGH currently uses Maestro (a roperty Management system by Northwind). The Grizzlies House management team has been pleased with their purchase and the system’s user friendly operability.

One of the things the St. Jude team, myself included, appreciated most is the wonderful customer service we received from Seth Sandland. Seth made our transition from an Intuity VMS to the new DuVoice VMS very easy. We found Seth to be very personable as well as very knowledgeable about not only the DuVoice product, but some of our other systems as well (Avaya PBX, the telephone network, our PMS, etc.).

While I could list many things we appreciated about Seth and his visit, one instance really stands out. During the setup process, Seth identified that our PMS was not going to allow us to use broadcast messaging in an efficient manner. To resolve the issue, Seth went out of his way to work with the DuVoice development team to create a fix. The fix was fast and was seamless. Most importantly, it worked! The added feature allowed the MGH team to use Broadcast messages, something they do regularly.

I can truly say that the DuVoice VMS implementation was one of the most pleasant system implementations I have experienced here at St. Jude. As I mentioned above, Seth was instrumental in making it such a success.

Thank you Jon & Seth for the great product and the great service! We look forward to working with you for many years to come.

Have a great weekend,
Adam

DV4 and DV2000 products are now available with station side Session Initiated Protocol (SIP) integration to PABX systems.

Kirkland Washington – DuVoice now supports a station side SIP interface for the popular DV4 and DV2000 telecommunication systems. In this configuration, each DuVoice voice channel is supported by one SIP station on the PBX.DuVoice products will be available as turnkey systems pre-loaded on DuVoice provided servers, or as a software only solution that is loaded onto a customer provided computer. All features, functions and system administration of the original product are supported in the SIP version.

SIP configuration presents two immediate advantages. The first is that with SIP, the physical analog or digital voice board traditionally used in voice mail systems since the beginning of the technology is no longer required. This eliminates the cost of the board(s) as well as the need to provision for the board in the voice mail system server. Now that PCI slots are no longer required, the DuVoice application can run on a blade in the rack, and can be easily co-located with other applications. The second advantage is that physical voice mail extensions are no longer required on the PBX, thereby reducing cost, complexity and points of failure on the switch end.

As PBX manufacturers adopt SIP station standards, DuVoice will have readymade high end integration for these switches.Currently, DuVoice has successfully tested its SIP solution on several PBX systems. “A SIP endpoint integration makes our products more cost effective and compatible with most IP enabled local or hosted PBXs.” stated Jon Dulude, DuVoice CEO.“With the abundance of bandwidth today SIP also allows DuVoice solutions to be deployed in centralized or hosted environments as well.”

TraceDisplay

DuVoice ships with it’s own trace application which will help with many of the problems you may encounter. It has several different log files you can view in real-time, here is a list of some of the most important.

Voice Hardware Layer – This will show SIP registration and dialogic events occurring on all channels.

SIP Integration decoder – This will show how we interpreted a SIP packet for integration.

Integration Testing and Setup – Used to diagnose problems with the integration.

3rd Party tools

Wireshark

For testing all types of SIP related problems, DuVoice does not ship this application however it is available free of charge at http://www.wireshark.org/.

A really important tip is to change the date display format to make debugging easier, especially if you send screenshots to DuVoice technical support. This can be done from wireshark menu View | Time Display Format and choose option one Date and Time of day.
